STRATEGIC PLANNING

Strategic planning is important for expressing and directing organizational priorities. RootSpark uses a variety of methods to develop a dynamic strategic plan through the full inclusion of staff board, donors, and partners.

While each strategic planning process is tailored to the needs of the organization, a typical process may include:​

  • Intake meeting with the organization leader that includes initial assessment of needs

  • Development of the strategic planning process and timeline

  • Development of stakeholder survey, if needed

  • Organizational readiness assessment via interviews with staff, board, and stakeholders

  • Development of strategic planning retreat model

  • Strategic planning retreat(s) 

  • Development of draft strategic plan 

  • Review of plan with organization leadership

  • 8 month follow-up mini-session with staff and board
