As the founder of RootSpark Consulting, Amber combines her deep expertise in executive leadership, strategic planning, and organizational change to help nonprofits build sustainability, strengthen leadership, and amplify their impact. Her approach is rooted in the belief that true success is achieved through collaboration and partnership.

Throughout her career, Amber has successfully led large nonprofit organizations, guiding them through complex challenges to create thriving, mission-driven enterprises. She has a proven track record of fostering partnerships across sectors—working with government agencies, academic institutions, and community organizations to build bridges and drive meaningful change. Her experience with elevating struggling nonprofits to financial stability and operational excellence is marked by both empathy and a visionary approach to leadership.

 

Amber’s commitment to the nonprofit and conservation sectors extends beyond her organizational leadership to service on numerous local and national boards and committees such as; Environmental Educators of North Carolina, North Carolina Association of Environmental Education Centers, Wallops Research Park Council, NASA Wallops Island Partners Board of Directors, Virginia Eastern ShoreKeeper, Onancock Rotary, Association of Nature Center Administrators, Urban Wilderness Alliance, and Knox County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board. She believes that as we learn and grow, it is incumbent upon us to share our knowledge so that other may thrive.
